Along with her partner, the mother of a 2-year-old toddler whose remains were discovered in a trash can has been taken into custody.
Police seized Maya Jones, 28, and her boyfriend Jermaine Robinson, 37, after Ezekiel Harry’s body was found in a bag in a trash can in Louisiana.
Hours before, Maya Jones had told police that she had seen her kid being taken away by a man driving a grey vehicle at a small bay in Houma.
The city’s police department said that investigators quickly came to the conclusion that her account was “inaccurate.”

They claimed that Jones traveled to Bayou Terrebonne on foot from her home on Cadiere Street with Ezekiel and her three other children.
Jones “went to surrounding households reporting her child was abducted,” according to the police.
The discovery of Ezekiel’s body in a trash can on Daspit Street, about two miles from Jones’ home, six hours after Jones reported his claimed kidnapping, according to police, confirmed their suspicions of foul play.
According to jail records, Jones and her partner are accused of first-degree murder as well as other offenses. According to district attorney Joe Waitz, they were being held at the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office without bond and might be executed.
The father now has custody of Jones’ other three children.
