The incident was brought on by overspeeding, according to the Sector Commander who spoke with journalists on Sunday evening.
He claimed that the sole female driver of a Toyota Highlander who ran off the road and into a ditch next to the road during an accident on the Muritala Mohammed Highway in Calabar was killed.
In his words : ”Though the woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but she was said to have died few minutes later due to the injury sustained from the incident.”
According to reports, the woman was reportedly chasing after her husband, who was allegedly driving around with a “side chick,” when she lost control of her car and killed herself.
According to sources, the woman attempted to block her husband’s car with the Toyota Highlander she was driving when she saw him leaving the SPAR shopping mall with another woman.
“Her husband was said to have maneuvered his vehicle out of the attempted blockade then took the Murtala Muhammed highway, with his wife is serious pursuit.
“In a bid to outrun her husband, she lost control of the speeding vehicle, veered off the road and slammed the vehicle, head long, into a tree, damaging the vehicle beyond repairs and also killing herself,” a source revealed.
