In one of his post-eviction interviews, the performance artist claimed that his father named all four of them after various deities.
He proclaimed that the name “Hermes” was given to him by his father at birth and not a stage name. He stated:
“My father named us four after gods. My two brothers are Akhnaton and Kuthumi, while my sister is Isis. Hermes is my real name.”
*Hermes is an Olympian deity in ancient Greek religion and mythology. Hermes is considered the herald of the gods.
He is also considered the protector of human heralds, travellers, thieves, merchants, and orators. He is able to move quickly and freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine, aided by his winged sandals.
Hermes, according to research plays the role of the psychopomp or “soul guide”, a conductor of souls into the afterlife.
