She alleged that the recently released song Contour by Joeboy was stolen from her original composition, which she had recorded on September 22, 2020.
Through her management, Asa wrote a letter to Joeboy in which she demanded N300 million and a 60% (sixty percent) publishing split on the song.
She commanded him to take the song off of all DSPs and other platforms immediately and completely within twenty-four (24) hours. She also asked for an apology in writing.
Joeboy responded to the notice on his Instagram story, saying that they were attempting to ride on him due to his likeable personality.
He noted that the 24-hour deadline had passed and dared Asa and her management to proceed with any legal actions they desired to take.
The musician wrote, “LOL,” along with a screenshot of the letter he received from Asa’s agent.
