The moment that police officers from the Lagos State Police command physically beat a woman for recording them was caught on camera.
The video was first shared on Twitter by @Austynzogs.
Sharing the video, he wrote:
”Last week police men guarding the palace at Illasan, Lekki Phase 1,allegedly assaulted a lady for attempting to record them during a confrontation with a Uber driver. The lady’s phone was seized & she was also arrested. Has she been freed? @BenHundeyin @Princemoye1”
The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, responded to the video by saying that the officers had been subjected to disciplinary action and that the woman had been given access to her phone.
