A young Nigerian man named Babe Face killed both himself and the woman he loved.
At the Kom Kom axis of Oyigbo in the Rivers State local government area of Oyigbo, he burned himself alive after strangling his sweetheart.
According to the witness, problems began when Babe Face accused the dead of having an extramarital affair. The source claimed that the dead jumped on her and strangled her to death when she was unable to provide a sufficient explanation for the suspected immoral affairs.
According to the eyewitness, after strangling the victim and trying to hide his tracks, the young man set the apartment on fire and died from burns alongside the body of his girlfriend.
“The incident happened at the weekend in Kom Kom axis of Oyigbo. A young boy who bears the name Babe Face had an altercation with his girlfriend over issues that had to do with her cheating on him in the relationship.
“He beat the deceased to a stupor and strangled her in the process. Having succeeded in killing the girl, the boy set his apartment ablaze as a move to cover his track but was caught up in the inferno which burnt him to death alongside the corpse of her lover,” the eyewitness stated.
According to the source, the incident has spread panic throughout the neighbourhood as locals have fled their homes out of concern for possible police arrests.
When reached, SP Grace Iringe Koko, the public relations officer for the Rivers State Police Command, stated that she had not yet received a briefing on the incident.
