The state of Lagos’s government plans to redirect traffic.
Prior to President Muhammadu Buhari’s two-day working visit on January 23 and 24, the state has established traffic diversion plans.
Officials of the Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been mobilized to regulate traffic flow throughout the time, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Transport Frederic Oladeinde.
He stated: “On the first day (23rd), movement around the Imota Rice Mill in Ikorodu, and the Lekki Deep Port Sea axis, will be restricted. On the second day (24th), movement around Eko Hotels and Suites, Ahmadu Bello Way, J-Randle, through Broad Street and Outer Marina will be diverted from 6am to 3pm.”
Oladeinde emphasized the alternate routes for drivers based on their chosen destinations as he begged them to cooperate fully.
According to the alternatives, drivers will be diverted from Ahmadu Bello Way, Ademola Adetokunbo, and Akin Adesola Streets to Alfred Rewane Road and Falomo Bridge (Five Cowries Bridge) in order to reach their chosen destinations.
Drivers from Ozumba Mbadiwe and Bonny Camp are advised to use Falomo Bridge (Five Cowries Bridge) or Awolowo Road when travelling to Onikan Roundabout, Tinubu Square, or any other area of the inner Island. Drivers from Awolowo Road using Falomo Roundabout to connect to Alfred Rewane should do the same.
Another divert for drivers coming from King George V Road is to link Moloney Street to Obalende and then to their final destinations. Alternatively, they can link Turton Street to Lewis and Sandgrouse Streets through Moloney Street.
Drivers intending to reach Marina from the Eko Bridge will be redirected to Elegbata, Ebute Ero, and the police station in order to connect to the third Mainland Bridge (Adeniji Adele), which would allow them to reach their intended destinations even more easily.
