Rasel Islam of Bangladesh previously held the world record for most skips in a minute with 262, but Ezekiel’s 265 skips beat that mark.
As the first athlete from the state to achieve it, Since the state’s creation in 1976, the Ijapo High School student from Akure, the capital of Ondo State, made history.
The young man also holds the record for becoming the first African rope skipper from Nigeria.
Gbenga Ezekiel, a 16-year-old Nigerian student, now holds the record for the most skips performed in a minute on a single leg.
The accomplishment was reported to Chubuisi Ukandu, the national rope-skipping coach for Nigeria, and it has also been updated on the Guinness World Records website.
The statement reads, “The most skips in one minute on one leg is 265 and was achieved by Gbenga Ezekiel (Nigeria), in Akure, Nigeria, on 31 October 2022. The attempt took place at the Akure stadium,”
