The armed robbers, who allegedly stormed the location at around 1 am in the morning, were armed with a Point of Sale device (PoS), which they allegedly used to steal money from their victims’ bank accounts.
PUNCH Metro discovered that the incident has sparked widespread panic as locals are now fleeing in obvious panic.
One of the residents, who for security reasons did not want his name published, stated that “The armed robbers got to the area at the midnight around 1am. They operated freely. They came with a POS machine and transferred some amount of money, which cannot be specified at the moment, from one of their victim’s accounts. They also transferred an undisclosed amount of money from his wife’s account and left.
“They also went away with two phones, iPhone 11 Pro Max and XS Max.”
On Saturday, suspected armed robbers stormed and robbed the Eleshin town, Olomo community in Apete, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
According to reports, the incident was reported to the Apete Divisional Police Headquarters.
