After investigations are finished, the accused will be charged in court, according to Muhammed Ibrahim, the NSCDC commandant for the state.
The young girl’s aunt, Adamo Yunusa, and her son, Saheed Yunusa, were detained at their home in Ile Oniponmo, Ayelabowo in the Oko-Olowo district of the city of Ilorin.
According to information obtained, the accused severely injured the young person later identified as Sukura Suleiman.
On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, the Kwara NSCDC spokeswoman, confirmed the occurrence in a statement.
He claimed that a worried citizen who learned of the girl’s aunt’s severe injuries reported the matter to the command headquarters.
The suspects allegedly claimed that the victim was abused because she stole the sum of 2,000 Naira, according to the NSCDC PRO (N2,000).
At the conclusion of the investigations, he added, the two suspects would face legal action.
