The victims were all trapped aboard a commercial bus that somersaulted when the driver lost control of it, ramming into the median on the way there.
To help pull casualties from the bus, rescuers joined hands.
Although no lives were lost, the victims sustained severe injuries, They were hurried to the hospital on Lagos Island’s emergency room.
Adebayo Taofiq, director of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority’s (LASTMA) Public Affairs and Education Department, claimed that the victims were saved by LASTEMA personnel.
Taofiq stated: “LASTMA Adejunwon Olalekan (Bravo 1) who led the rescue operations confirmed that it was a lone accident of a commercial Mazda bus with registration no IKJ 969 YA.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the Mazda commercial bus lost control as a result of overspeeding and somersaulted leaving 10 passengers with severe injuries.
“Those rescued 10 accident victims were immediately rushed to Marina General Hospital by Lastma personnel for urgent medical treatment,” he stated.
