In April 2014, 276 female students between the ages of 16 and 18 were abducted by militants, according to Naija News.
Bishara, however, is one of the approximately 57 fortunate females who allegedly jumped off the trucks their kidnappers were using to carry them, escaping the terrorists’ plot.
Others were subsequently saved by the Nigerian Armed Forces, but more than 100 remain unaccounted for.
But Bishara and her cousin Lydia Pogu, who were among the survivors of the attack that attracted attention from all around the world, moved to the US.
