The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned against the use of its uniforms and equipment in skits and films without permission. The management warned that anyone who disobeys this regulation will be detained and prosecuted moving forward.
The LASTMA General Manager, Mr Bolaji Oreagba, who issued the warning, expressed displeasure at the degrading way that film and skit creators portray the LASTMA institution in their films and skits by using the uniform without referring to Section 79 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Law, which makes such unauthorized use illegal.

Oreagba made this claim on Friday after spotting a fully costumed actress wearing a LASTMA outfit in the Yoruba film “Gbogbo Lowo” and other skits on various social media platforms.
“Film or skit makers who portray as LASTMA Officer without applying for, and being duly issued a permit letter for such portrayals, should desist with immediate effect or face the full wrath of the Law.
“We implore National Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTA) and other affliated bodies to warn their members as anyone caught using LASTMA uniform without an approved permit would be prosecuted” Oreagba stated.
