Sani Shuaibu, who is being detained at the Yolde Pate Medium Security Custodial Center in Yola while awaiting trial, explained how he stole the dog, obtained N3,500 from a buyer, used the money to buy shoes, and then was apprehended at the Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee.
The dog was picked up and sold to a man, according to Sani, a resident of Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area.

The accused, who has been incarcerated for a few months, was fortunate because after confessing to the crime, the committee released 223 prisoners who were awaiting trial.
When the accused’s case came up for review late on Wednesday, the committee under the direction of the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman, dismissed the defendant.
