The veteran Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi was overcome with intense fan love at a church service in Lagos that brought tears to her eyes.
Tope conveyed the tremendous support she received from her fans throughout the event by posting a video on her Instagram account that captured the poignant and emotional moments.
The video showed the gospel singer and her husband entertaining in the VIP section while they revelled in the choristers’ performance of her beloved, soul-stirring tunes, which literally rolled out the tears from her eyes.
As the audience joined in the choir’s heartfelt singing, Tope was unable to contain her tears. Her husband saw her emotional response on camera, beaming with happiness.
Tope, who was captioning the video, talked about how the event’s overwhelming love for her had a big influence on her and called it an emotional experience. She expressed her gratitude for God’s favour in her profession and stressed that she never takes it for granted.
