Trial Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel condemned Timothy without the possibility of a fine after he entered a guilty plea for the crime.
Emmanuel mentioned that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to others and would be served concurrently.
The prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo had earlier informed the court that Timothy was accused of obtaining money under false pretences.
Timothy claims that under the false pretence of getting Cynthia Cole a Canadian visa, he fraudulently obtained N1.8 million from her.
