The most significant addition to the iPhone in the new IOS version is the Stolen Device Protection feature. This new feature gives iPhone users an extra layer of protection when their phone is stolen.
In other IOS versions, if Face ID failed multiple times while attempting to access your apps or features, iPhones would permit you to use your passcode. If someone with malicious intent gains access to your phone and knows your passcode, they can use it to access your protected apps or features.
For example, they could open iCloud Keychain —where most users store their passwords— and gain access to your apps and accounts including financial and social media. They could also change the Apple ID password, disable Find My iPhone, reset the face ID, and ultimately take full control of the phone.
That vulnerability was fixed with the introduction of the Stolen Device Protection feature. When enabled, the feature removes the passcode fallback when Face ID fails. This ensures that only you can access your sensitive data at any time.

Another Stolen Device Protection feature is Security Delay. It creates a one-hour delay when someone tries to change your Apple ID password or phone passcode from an unfamiliar location. This gives you time to clear your phone if it gets stolen remotely.
To activate the Stolen Device Protection feature, install the latest updates and navigate to settings to enable it. It can be found under Face ID & Passcode.

The new IOS 17.3 version also includes some new features in Apple Music. Apple Music users can now invite friends to join a collaborative playlist where they can all add, reorder or remove songs. Users can also add emoji reactions to the tracks in the playlist.
Apple also adds new unity wallpapers for lock screens on IOS 17.3. According to the Apple IOS update page, the wallpapers were designed to “honor Black history and culture in celebration of Black History Month”.
Another cool feature in IOS 17.3 is Airplay Hotel Support which allows you to stream content directly to your TV when you lodge in some select hotels.
Apple says some of these features might not be available in some regions and on some devices.
The update is already available for users already on IOS 17.
