Salisu Aishat and seven other people have been arrested in connection with the death of an unidentified man in Lagos State’s Ijora Badia area.
PUNCH Metro reports that on Wednesday, Aishat invited a few guests to join her in the felicitation on Olayemi Street, Ijora Badia, indicating that she was celebrating her birthday.
The victim was discovered unexpectedly lying unconscious on the floor where the celebration was taking place, despite reports that everyone was busy having a good time.
As they assessed the victim, a wound on his head indicated that something evil had happened to him. It was later learned that people had approached closer to look into what had happened to him.

Speaking with a PUNCH correspondent, a source who does not want his identity published out of concern for retaliation stated that the announcement confused partygoers.
The insider continued by saying that there was a chance the victim was hurt in the altercation that started during the celebration.
The source stated, “There was a party on Olayemi Street, Ijora Badia, and a fight broke out during the celebration. Suddenly, the man was found lying down on the ground and when people moved closer to him, they discovered he had died and a wound was on his head.
“The case was reported at the Ijora Badia Division and when policemen got to the scene and did their investigation, they arrested the celebrant who organised the party and some other persons.”
He continued, “Immediately, the DPO led his patrol team to the scene and the celebrant, Salisu Aishat, and seven others were arrested. A wound was discovered on the head of the corpse.
“The corpse was evacuated and deposited in the Mainland Hospital morgue, Yaba, for preservation and autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.”

When contacted, Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, stated that the event occurred on April 16, 2024, at approximately 9:10 p.m., and that a concerned citizen had reported the issue to the police.
