Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has offered immediate employment to Sham’unu Ishaq, a first-class graduate of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, who went viral for selling sachet water to support his family.
Ishaq graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Education) Biology degree but struggled to find employment, forcing him to resort to selling sachet water on the streets.
In a video clip, he shared his daily income barely covered his basic needs, and he couldn’t save anything. He appealed to Governor Radda for help, highlighting his willingness to work and his struggles to meet his family’s needs.
Governor Radda, known for his commitment to recognizing academic excellence, swiftly responded to Ishaq’s plea.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor confirmed that Ishaq’s graduation and NYSC completion were verified. Governor Radda has previously offered automatic employment to outstanding graduates from Isah Kaita College of Education and Umaru Musa Yar’adua University.
Through his Gwagware Foundation, Governor Radda has been providing support to rural communities, including food, medical care, water supply, and employment opportunities.
