Boko Haram terrorists utilized drones to bomb a Nigerian Army base in Borno State on Christmas Eve, leaving multiple soldiers injured.
According to exclusive reports, the terrorists targeted the Forward Operating Base in Wajiroko, Damboa Local Government Area, on Tuesday afternoon. The attack began with sporadic gunfire, but the troops successfully repelled the initial assault.
However, the terrorists retaliated with a drone strike, deploying multiple armed drones carrying locally fabricated grenades. The attack damaged a gun truck belonging to the army and left at least six soldiers injured.
A military signal obtained by correspondence (Not by Thenewsnaija reporters) confirmed the incident, stating that the troops received first aid and were awaiting evacuation for further medical attention.
The Nigerian government has repeatedly claimed that Boko Haram has been largely defeated, but the group’s continued ability to launch devastating attacks undermines these assertions.
As the conflict rages on, the humanitarian toll continues to mount, with over 100,000 deaths and millions displaced.
