In a recent update, popular Nigerian blogger and social media personality, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that N78 million out of the N180 million allegedly stolen from his NGO’s account has been recovered.
VDM initially reported the incident on Instagram, claiming that his account had been hacked and N180 million was missing.
He revealed that the hacked account was placed on Payment Network Disconnection (PND), and while N160 million was diverted to an undisclosed account, the balance of N20 million remained in the compromised account.
The alleged security breach occurred shortly after Otse launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, which raised over N35 million in donations within hours. He also received a generous N100 million contribution from renowned music producer Don Jazzy.
In his latest update, VDM expressed gratitude for the progress made in the investigation and shared details about the ongoing efforts to recover the remaining stolen funds.
He claimed that the suspect involved in the theft revealed that an accomplice had fled to Ghana, and he hopes to pursue the matter further in Ghana.
