The Kano State Government has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Engr. Ahmad Ishaq Bunkure, the newly appointed Special Adviser on Works to Governor Abba Yusuf. Bunkure passed away in Egypt, just 24 hours after his swearing-in ceremony.
Governor Yusuf expressed his deep sorrow over Bunkure’s passing, describing him as a dedicated professional whose expertise was expected to drive the administration’s vision for development.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” Yusuf said.
Bunkure was among the newly appointed aides and commissioners sworn in by Governor Yusuf on Monday, January 6, 2025.
His death has sent shockwaves throughout the state government, with condolences pouring in from various leaders, including Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, National leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, and members of the Kano State Government.
