An incident happened in Latina, Italy, where a 27-year-old Nigerian-born mother, Patricia Masithela, was fatally attacked by a pack of starving dogs.
The tragic event occurred on Monday at a derelict house, where Patricia had gone to meet a friend, unaware that the friend was not home.
According to reports, neighbors alerted authorities after hearing Patricia’s screams around 3 am.
Police rushed to the scene and shot two of the dogs to rescue Patricia, who suffered severe bite wounds and extensive bleeding. Despite medical efforts, Patricia succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The young mother leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter, a brother, and a sister. The house where the incident occurred has been described by police as neglected and uninhabitable and has been seized by the authorities for investigation.
An investigation has been launched, and the house owner, a 40-year-old man, is being questioned. Reports indicate that the dogs involved in the incident were malnourished and had a history of aggressive behavior. Authorities have located the dogs’ owner and ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Patricia’s death.
