President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) bill into law.
The announcement was made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the region’s quest for prosperity.
According to Akpabio, the establishment of the NCDC is designed to bring development to the grassroots level, a move that is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of citizens in the region.
The Senate President congratulated the people of the North-Central region and expressed hope that the commission would enhance development and foster peace in the area.

This development comes on the heels of the president’s signing of a bill to establish a Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State, just a day earlier.
The NCDC is expected to play a crucial role in driving development at the grassroots level, focusing on key areas such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
