A group of terrorists have kidnapped a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major General Mahrazu Tsiga (retired), along with two other residents in Katsina State.
The armed terrorists invaded the former DG’s hometown, Tsiga, in Kankara Local Government Area on Wednesday night.
The bandits went directly to General Mahrazu’s residence and abducted him along with two others.
A conflict and crisis journalist in the Northwest zone, Bakatsine, confirmed the incident, stating that the terrorists attacked Tsiga town and succeeded in abducting three people, including the former NYSC Director-General.
When contacted, Katsina State Police Command spokesperson DSP Aliyu Abubakar told newsmen that he had yet to be briefed about the incident. “I am yet to be briefed on the facts of the reports. I’ll get back to you as soon as I get the details, please,” he said on Thursday morning.
In January, terrorists attacked a General Hospital in the same Kankara local government area, shooting a medical doctor on duty and kidnapping at least five people.
