A medical doctor, Lawan Ado, has been arrested by security operatives in Katsina State for providing medical services to notorious bandits, including one with a N50 million bounty on his head.
According to reports, Dr. Ado treated wounded bandits in the Safana Local Government Area and other adjoining communities.
In a video confession, Dr. Ado revealed that he was paid for his services, with his patients including notorious bandits such as Usman Modi-Modi, Mai Kudi, Audu, and Dogo Mardi.
Dr. Ado’s confession sheds light on the shocking extent of his involvement with the bandits. He revealed that he was first approached to treat Usman Modi-Modi, who had sustained gunshot wounds in a clash with the Yan Kyanbara vigilante group. Dr. Ado claimed that he was paid N18,000 for his services.
He also confessed to treating other bandits, including Mai Kudi, who was shot in Kurfi and paid him N8,000, and Audu, one of Usman Modi-Modi’s lieutenants, who also paid him N8,000. Dr. Ado further revealed that he treated Dogo Mardi, who was shot during a robbery operation and paid him N11,000.
