The families of the convoy staff of late former Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, have appealed to the Ondo State Government to pay the outstanding Daily Travel Allowance (DTA) owed to their loved ones.
According to reports, the convoy staff, comprising approximately 55 men, including drivers, Amotekun, personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS), and policemen, were responsible for protecting the late Governor, his family, and properties in Ibadan during his return from a medical trip abroad.
Tragically, five of the convoy staff have passed away without receiving their allowances, leaving their families in distress.
The families are urging the Ondo State Government to take immediate action to address their grievances and provide the necessary support to the dedicated public servants.
The families have reached out to several key individuals, including former aides and current state government officials, to intervene and facilitate the payment of the outstanding allowances. These individuals include Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the APC Chairman, Eng. Ase Adetimehin, and other stakeholders.
The families hope that their appeals will be heard and that the Ondo State Government will take prompt action to pay the outstanding allowances, bringing relief to the affected families.
