The Jigawa State Government has unveiled a pioneering Goat Rearing Scheme, distributing 264 goats to 88 women in Birniwa Council.
This innovative initiative aims to revolutionize the lives of women in the region, fostering economic empowerment, improved livelihoods, and food security.
Governor Malam Umar Namadi launched the scheme, emphasizing the state government’s commitment to supporting youth and women through sustainable empowerment programs. “My administration is dedicated to introducing initiatives that uplift the living standards of our people, especially women and youth,” Governor Namadi stated.
“The Goat Rearing Scheme is designed to provide women with a sustainable source of income, enabling them to support their families and contribute to the local economy,” Governor Namadi explained. “Each beneficiary will receive two she-goats and one he-goat, along with veterinary support to ensure the health and productivity of the animals.”
One of the beneficiaries, Dija Aminu, expressed her gratitude to the state government, saying, “We are very thankful for this support.
These goats will help us generate income and improve our lives. We promise to take good care of them.”
