A devastating incident occurred in Enugu Ezike, Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Enugu State, on Wednesday morning. Oluchukwu Odo, a single mother, allegedly killed her twin sister and niece before stabbing her mother multiple times.
According to family sources, the tragic event unfolded when Oluchukwu’s twin sister visited their parents’ home with her daughter. Oluchukwu attacked her sister and niece with a heavy object, killing them instantly.
She then stabbed her mother repeatedly in the chest with a kitchen knife.
The mother, despite her injuries, managed to escape to a nearby residence, where she cried out for help.
Neighbors intervened, and the Aji Neighbourhood Watch group pursued Oluchukwu, apprehending her in a neighboring village.
While being taken away, Oluchukwu expressed remorse, stating, “I don’t know what came over me.” Her words were laced with regret and confusion as she struggled to come to terms with her actions.
The suspect has been handed over to the police at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Ogrute, Enugu Ezike, for further investigation. The community is still reeling in shock, trying to process the tragedy.
