Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command over allegations of criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, and character assassination against Fuji legend Saheed Osupa.
The arrest followed a formal petition filed by Osupa, alleging that Portable engaged in conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, including using abusive and insulting language.
The police secured a valid arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin and apprehended Portable in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on April 13, 2025.
Portable’s statement was taken in the presence of legal representatives from both parties, and he is currently in custody. Arrangements are being made to charge him to court without delay.
The police have urged the public to avoid speculation and allow due process to take its course, ensuring a fair and transparent investigation.
