BREAKING: Scores Feared Dead As Nigerian Air Force Targeting Terrorists Bombs Katsina Community
A devastating incident occurred in Katsina State, Northwest Nigeria, as the Nigerian Air Force mistakenly bombed Shawu village, resulting in multiple casualties. The airstrike, intended to target bandits, hit the community on Thursday morning.
The incident reportedly occurred in Shawu village, Ruwan Godiya district, Faskari Local Government Area. An eyewitness claimed the air strike was intended to target bandits in the area but mistakenly hit the community.
According to Salihu Bamle Bakatsine, a resident of Katsina State, several people were confirmed dead and many others injured. The exact number of fatalities and injuries is yet to be confirmed.
However, the state commissioner for internal security, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu, confirmed that there was bombing in the area but said it was not accidental. He stated that the bomb was dropped on purpose, targeting terrorists and not civilians.
The Faskari Local Government Council chairman, Musa Ado Faskari, also said the airstrike was precise because bandits have infiltrated the community. He confirmed four deaths were recorded and added that they are still sorting out the number of wounded.
The incident has raised concerns about the effectiveness and precision of military operations in the region.
