Trump’s lead in Georgia and North Carolina is crucial, as each state holds 16 electoral votes. Harris is now heavily reliant on the “blue wall” states – Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin – to remain viable in the presidential race.
Election Results So Far
- Trump: 246 Electoral College votes
- Harris: 182 Electoral College votes
Trump has shown strength across broad swaths of the country, winning Florida, Texas, South Carolina, and Indiana. Harris won Virginia, New York, New Mexico, California, and an Electoral College vote in Nebraska.
Republicans have won a majority in the United States Senate after flipping Democratic seats in West Virginia and Ohio. Neither party appears to have an advantage in the battle for control of the House of Representatives, where Republicans hold a slim majority.
Trump picked up more support from Hispanics and lower-income households, with 45% of Hispanic voters nationwide supporting him. Voters whose top issue was the economy voted overwhelmingly for Trump.
