Lagos Court Adjourns Femi Falana, Falz’s Defamation Case Against VeryDarkMan to January 23

A Lagos High Court has adjourned the defamation case filed by Femi Falana and his son, Falz, against blogger Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, to January 23, 2025.

The case was postponed due to missing applications and court processes.

The Falanas are seeking N500 million each in damages over a video posted by VeryDarkMan alleging they received N10 million from Idris Okuneye (Bobrisky) to influence justice.

They claim VeryDarkMan knowingly published unverified and false information to harm their reputation.

VeryDarkMan refuses to apologize, stating his video aimed to expose corruption in Nigeria. He claims the Falanas should clear their names rather than demanding an apology.

Justice Matthias Dawodu ruled that the Falanas have the right to protection from slander. VeryDarkMan was ordered to:

  •  Delete the alleged defamatory video
  • Refrain from publishing or circulating defamatory content against the Falanas on social media

The case has been adjourned to January 23, 2025. VeryDarkMan remains resolute in his stance, insisting he will continue to speak out against corruption.
