As he approaches George Weah’s Serie A record, Victor Osihmen has reacted, The rising sensation will soon surpass Africa as the highest scorer in the Italian top division.
The Nigerian striker, who signed with Napoli in the summer of 2020, is just one league goal short of Weah’s record with 45 goals for the Partenopei.
Liberian George Weah became the undisputed best scorer in Italian football between 1995 and 2000 with 46 Serie A goals for AC Milan in 114 games.
The current president of Liberia, a former Ballon d’Or winner, is acknowledged as one of the best African players, but Nigeria’s Osimhen is poised to surpass the record in just three seasons.
Through the Moor Sportz YouTube Channel, Wole Opatola and Osimhen had a conversation.

“He (Weah) has to be considered as one of the greatest African strikers that graced the Serie A. I want to continue to do my best and continue to do well for myself and for my team.
“At the end of the season, I think I stand a chance to surpass him or meet the record. I didn’t have the opportunity of watching him play, and I have never met him.
“But I’m closer to his son Timothy Weah. His father is a huge example for us so that an African can also win the most prestigious prize in world football.”
