The NPA described the nature of the current port operations in a statement made available to Lagos reporters on Wednesday via its official newspaper, Shipping Position.

Twenty ships are presently discharging petroleum at Lagos ports, including Apapa, Tin Can Island, and Lekki Deep Seaport, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

The report states that a variety of commodities, including frozen fish, gasoline, general goods, containers, bulk sugar, buckwheat, bulk fertilizer, bulk urea, bulk gas, and bulk gypsum, are being offloaded from the vessels.

The agency also revealed that two more ships carrying containers and bulk wheat had arrived and were awaiting berthing.

According to the NPA, 20 additional ships carrying general cargo, buckwheat, bulk sugar, base oil, aviation fuel, diesel, gas oil, bulk urea, containers, and petrol are anticipated to reach the Lagos ports complex between November 12 and November 14.
