Toke Makinwa Asserts that Babies are not Dirty and that Bathing them Every day could Harm their Skin (video)
Toke Makinwa, a Nollywood actress and media figure, has advised new moms not to bathe their infants every day.
She disclosed that she doesn’t give her child a daily bath and encouraged other nursing mothers to wipe their infants rather than give them a daily bath.
The Nollywood actress claims that giving babies daily baths may cause skin damage.
The actress, who recently gave birth to her first kid at the age of 40, made the case that newborns are inherently clean in a video posted to her social media profile, emphasizing that the womb from which they sprang is not unclean.
In her words ;
“I really think bathing babies actually causes problems. Babies are not dirty. They have been inside the womb for nine months. Inside the womb is not dirty.
“I don’t bathe my baby every day because it is not necessary. Babies are not on the floor; they are not dirty or sweaty. So, why are you excessively putting water on their skin? Their skin is fragile. You can wipe them instead of bathing them every day. This helped me, so I’m just putting it out there,”
