Laolu Martins, a co-owner of Bukka Hut, allegedly commits suicide.

He passed away on Tuesday night, according to a statement from the grieving family. Although some claim Martins committed suicide, the exact cause of death was not disclosed.

The statement says ;

“We hereby solicit the support and understanding of everyone as the family grieves the loss of our beloved Laolu in our privacy.

“Our kind request is that you support the family – wife, children, aged mother and father and his siblings with your prayers at this difficult time. Further announcements will be made by the family,”

Martins began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999. He is a Chartered Stockbroker and a Chartered Accountant with 12 years of expertise in investment banking, corporate banking, stockbroking, asset management, and pension fund management.

He started out at Investment Banking & Trust Company Plc, which is now known as Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, where he worked in the Trade Finance/Foreign Operations and Financial Control departments. After that, he was seconded to Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Ltd, where he held various positions including Financial Controller, Head Asset Management, and Head Stockbroking.

He resigned and left to work for Shell Nig. CPFA Ltd, where he served as Head, Investments until 2008, then he later left to work for Nigeria International Security Limited, NISL, an independent financial services company that specializes in investments in the Nigerian market.
