After confronting a suspected cultist for harassing his pregnant wife in Malaysia, a Nigerian man was fatally stabbed.

Police have detained eight Nigerian nationals, six men and two women, in connection with the deadly altercation that took place early on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Reports claim that the suspected cultist Edirin, also known as Forthy, slapped the deceased’s wife in the butt.

“The deceased was at a club house with his pregnant wife when the cultist (who is the leader of Aye confraternity in Malaysia) slapped her ass. He confronted the cultist and they almost fought at the club house but people intervened and settled the matter,” a source narrated.

“The victim then left the club to another club. The cultist and his gang followed him to the new club where he stabbed him to death and injured two of his friends,” the source added.

While receiving medical attention at the hospital and the other two were battling for their lives, Toheeb passed away from severe wounds.

Supt Ashari Abu Samah, the chief of the Wangsa Maju district police, confirmed the incident and stated that at 5.35am on Sunday, police officers on duty at the Wangsa Maju control center learned from police officers at the Pudu police station that three African citizens had been hurt during a gang fight and were being treated at a private hospital.

“Investigations revealed that the victims were involved in a fight with a group of Africans. One of the victims, a 32-year-old man died of severe injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital. He is believed to have been slashed at the back of his neck,” he stated in a statement.

Ashari claims that the eight foreigners who were detained, who ranged in age from 26 to 40, were brought to the Wangsa Maju District police headquarters for additional processing and a murder investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
