As an explosion hits Lagos, many are feared dead and some others are injured.

Many persons were thought dead after a fire broke out early this morning in the Adeola Odeku neighbourhood of Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to reports, the fire destroyed a structure believed to be occupied by a bank, and cars were also seen burning in the blaze.

Firefighters from the nearby Eko Hotel and Suites attempted but failed to extinguish the fire.

It was unclear whether the fire outbreak had been brought under control at the time of this report.
