Court Asserts Oyetola as the Governor of Osun State
The Osun Election Petition Tribunal, which met in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on Friday, dismissed Senator Ademola Adeleke from his position as governor of the state.
The panel also mandated the immediate withdrawal of the certificate of returns issued to state governor Adeleke.
While reading the ruling in Osogbo, Justice Tertsea Kume, the panel’s presiding judge, ruled that the election’s conduct had not complied with the electoral legislation.
In six polling places during the election, there was excessive voting, according to Justice Kume. He maintained that Oyetola received 314,941 votes, while Adeleke received 290,266 votes, after valid votes were subtracted from these overvotes.
