In Edo State, a Man Supposedly Kills His Pregnant Wife and Fakes Suicide (Photo)
According to reports, a Nigerian man killed his expectant wife in Benin City.
The husband, identified as Emmanuel Omoru, a private company accountant in Benin City, is accused of killing his unborn wife and hanging her body to simulate suicide.
According to a report by NaijaCover, Emmanuel committed the act after Cynthia Agho, his wife and the mother of his two children, who is 27 years old, accused him of having extramarital affairs.
On Saturday, July 16, 2022, at approximately 11:48 p.m., an unfortunate incident took place at 10, Omozuise Street, Off Street 2, Lucky Way, Aduwawa, Benin City.
Mr. Festus Agho, the deceased’s father, told reporters that his daughter Cynthia had previously expressed concerns about her husband Emmanuel Umoru’s adultery.
Most recently, according to Mr. Agho, a POS operator named Tosin, whom Mr. Emmanuel Umoru had earlier introduced to his deceased daughter as a goddaughter but who was later revealed to be one of his concubines.

The Accountant is said to have become irate when his wife Cynthia Agho confronted the POS girl outside her husband’s workplace with evidence that she had been having an affair with her husband.
Mr. Festus Agho went on to say that when his son-in-law, Mr. Emmanuel Umoru, called and told him about his daughter’s behavior, he asked for pardon in the interest of peace in general.
In the midst of the argument, the woman’s husband is alleged to have taken their two children and placed them in his mother’s care.
However, he expressed regret that on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at around 11:56 p.m., as reported by NaijaCover, Mr. Emmanuel Umoru’s landlord called to tell him that his daughter had hanged herself.
“I met police officers from Aduwawa who said I cannot go in to see the corpse of my daughter.
“But from what I have seen so far, I want the Edo State government, a commission of police in Edo State and relevant authorities to help me ask my daughter’s husband what he did to his wife. My daughter did not take her life”.
According to NaijaCover, the public relations officer for the Edo State Police Command SP Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the incident and said Mr. Emmanuel Umoru had been arrested.
“Operatives met the body dangling on a rope tied to a ceiling fan in her bedroom.
“The Body was evacuated to our hospital for autopsy and preservation while the preliminary investigation is ongoing”. SP Chidi stated.
