Nigeria has received the original FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy.

A FIFA World Cup tournament will be held across two confederations for the first time ever.

The trophy, which 32 teams from across the world will battle for between July 20 and August 20, arrived in Abuja on Saturday afternoon.

Before travelling to Australia and New Zealand, the trophy will complete the fourth leg of its 32-leg journey in Nigeria.

The largest FIFA Women’s World Cup in history will be held in Australia and New Zealand, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

From Sunday at noon, the trophy will be on display at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, with a photo opportunity scheduled for a number of invited guests.

Only four nations—the United States, Germany, Norway, and Japan—have ever taken home the trophy

Germany and the US have each won it twice, while Japan and Norway have each won it once. The US has won it four times.

The finals for this year will be held in two distinct confederations, the Asian Football Confederation and Oceania Football Federation, at ten locations among the two host nations.

In total, there are six venues spread over five different Australian cities, four venues in New Zealand, and just two venues in Sydney, Australia.

The trophy was transported to the three other African nations that will compete in the finals—Morocco, South Africa, and Zambia—before being delivered to Nigeria.

The Sydney Football Stadium and the Stadium Australia are these, and the Final game will be played there.
