Shocks As a Man is Arrested in Lagos By the Police for Marrying a Second Wife
On Wednesday, he was charged with bigamy and forging information on a marriage certificate before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
Idowu Osungbure, the prosecutor, said to the court that while Uzoma was married, he entered into a second marriage at a wedding registry with a woman named Sophia Yongxian.
He pointed out that the defendant falsely claimed to be a bachelor even though he was already married.

“That you, Edmund Uzoma, of Lekki Road 15, Golden Gate Apartment, Lagos, on or sometime in 2019 in Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit a felony, to wit: bigamy, and false statement and declaration,”
The accused entered a not-guilty plea to the accusations.
He was granted bail by the magistrate with an amount of N1m including two dependable sureties.
Uzoma was charged with three charges namely bigamy and forging information on a marriage certificate before Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun.
