Terror in Chibok: Boko Haram Kills Many, Burns Houses and Church in Fresh Attack

Boko Haram terrorists struck again in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno state, leaving a trail of destruction and death.

The militants, affiliated with the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), launched a brutal assault on two communities, killing many and burning houses and a church.

According to sources, the attackers looted food supplies and livestock from the communities, exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.

Chibok, a town that gained international attention in 2014 after the abduction of over 300 schoolgirls by Boko Haram, has once again been targeted by the terrorist group.

Eyewitness accounts describe the chaos and destruction caused by the attack. “The insurgents came into Tsikarkur village around 2 pm on Sunday, shooting indiscriminately and burning houses,” said one resident. Another source reported that two siblings were among those killed during the attack.

The attack on Chibok communities comes on the heels of another devastating attack on Dumba community, near Baga in Kukawa Local Government Area, where 40 farmers were killed by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists.

The Borno State Government has condemned the attacks, with Governor Babagana Zulum disclosing that many who escaped the attack are still being tracked to be reunited with their families.
