Police Declare Nigerian Singer Portable Wanted After Violent Clash with Government Officials
The Ogun State Police Command has issued a warrant for the arrest of popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, also known as Portable, following his alleged involvement in a violent attack on government officials.
According to the police, Portable led a gang of nine thugs in an assault on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, who were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, on February 5, 2025.
The officials had encountered the singer’s father at Odogwu Bar and requested the approved building plan, but he claimed his son was unavailable.
Portable then arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, and launched the attack on the officials.
The enforcement officers sustained injuries but managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command.
The case was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action. Nine accomplices have been arrested, but Portable fled the scene and has since gone into hiding.
The police have obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted and are urging the public to provide any information that can lead to his arrest. Anyone found aiding or harboring the suspect will face legal consequences.
Portable had been invited to report to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, but he ignored the invitations without cause or legal representation.
