Energy Expert Agule Says UK Electricity Is Less Expensive Than Nigerian Electricity (Video)
According to energy expert Nick Agule, electricity in the UK is less expensive than in Nigeria.
In an interview with Arise Television on Wednesday, Agule revealed this.
This coincides with the federal government’s announcement that starting in 2026, state and local governments will share the expense of electricity subsidies.

This represents a change from the current system in which the majority of the costs are borne by the Federal Government.
Agule’s comment is also in response to the ongoing national grid outages, which occurred twice within a weeks last month.
During his interview he stated that ;
“I agree that now that states have the responsibility to create electricity markets in their domains, per the 2023 Electricity Act, they should also contribute to the subsidy discussion.
“This should be a firstline charge from states and local governments from the Federation Account.
“However, the government seems to be addressing the symptom which is the accumulated debts in the electricity sector instead of tackling the root cause of problem.
