Falz criticizes government spending and says the Emi Lõkan slogan is absurd.
After criticizing the Federal Government’s spending objectives and calling the popular “Emi Lõkan” campaign slogan the most ridiculous thing he has ever heard, Nigerian musician and actor Falz has sparked a new political controversy.
In a televised interview, the vocal performer questioned government spending in light of the nation’s escalating economic and security problems, criticizing what he called an emphasis on purchasing luxury goods rather than tackling urgent domestic problems.
He asked, “If you look at what has been spent on acquiring new vehicles, acquiring jets, and all these things, and look at what has actually gone on with insecurity and what we’re facing, what are your priorities?”
The rapper also dismissed the notion that establishing more foundations was the answer to Nigeria’s problems, stating, “Is that the solution to our problems? More foundations? It’s absurd.”

In response to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s recent comments that the government was under tremendous pressure and that young Nigerians should help build the country, Falz contended that elected officials freely took on the burden of governing.
“What do you mean pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this role?” he asked.
He reserved his sharpest criticism for the “Emi Lọkan” slogan, which translates to “It is my turn.”
“Do you know what that translates to in English? It is my turn.
I’ve never seen anything more absurd than that in my entire life,” Falz stated.
Since then, his words have gone viral, eliciting a range of responses on the internet. Some have praised him for being open about governance difficulties, while others have criticized his remarks for being politically driven.
