Recall that the Senate Public Accounts Committee (SPAC) announced a few hours ago that the current and former management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) are under investigation, following the management’s inability to produce the necessary documents used as evidence to back up the institution’s expenditure of 17.158 billion naira in 2013.

According to Dr Michael Akabogu, the current NSITF managing director, such documents were not in the organization’s custody because the containers used to store them had not only been beaten by rain over the years, but had also been eaten by termites.

Following such a statement, Nigerian comedian Basketmouth took to social media to respond, recalling how some funds were allegedly taken by a monkey and snake a few years ago, adding that nobody will faint this time.

 

Basketmouth finally addressed the APC government, stating that their time has passed and that such reports will no longer be heard after the 2023 general elections.
