Afrobeats superstar Davido has sparked a heated conversation about Nigeria’s governance, stating that the country lacks true democracy.
In a recent episode of The Morning Hustle podcast, Davido compared Nigeria’s political landscape to that of the United States, expressing his admiration for the latter’s democratic system.
Davido revealed that he voted for Kamala Harris in the US elections, citing his desire to see the first female president in his generation.
He also congratulated Donald Trump on his victory, demonstrating his respect for the democratic process.
“What I like about America is that there’s true democracy. Where I come from [Nigeria], it’s not so,” Davido said. “I congratulated Donald Trump. That’s the president! What are you talking about? If I were running against him, I would still have congratulated him.”
