For spraying Naira notes, a Nollywood actress was detained and sent to Kirikiri prison.
Agents from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Fraud-Related Offences Commission detained her.
It took place on February 1st, 2023 at Ikoyi, Lagos along Awolowo Road.
She was instead turned over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission by the ICPC for a thorough investigation.
Omoseyin was charged with two counts by the EFCC and appeared in court on Monday.
One of the counts reads: “That you, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin on the 28th day of January 2023 at Monarch Event Centre, Lekki within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court whilst dancing during a social occasion tampered with the sum of N100, 000.00 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same in the said occasion and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 21 (1) of the Central Bank Act, 2007.”

However, the actress entered a not-guilty plea to the charge.

Sulaiman Sulaiman, the prosecutor’s attorney, demanded a trial date while pleading for the defendant to be held in the appropriate correctional centre.
In response, the defendant’s attorney, Adenike Goncalves, asked the court to grant bail to the defendant pending the hearing and resolution of the case.
Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, a 31-year-old Nollywood actress accused of spraying new naira notes at a public event, has been detained at Kirikiri Correctional Centre by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court.
In addition, Goncalves asked that Omoseyin be held in EFCC custody pending the completion of the bail conditions, should the court grant them.
